Dear Andy,

Thank you for your excellent reply. What you say makes a lot of sense

to me. My son is very high-functioning and this was the reason given for not

seeing any 'dramatic' improvement in the past four years. He has responded

well to the GF/CF diet as well as cod liver oil supplementation, DMG and

treatment for yeast overgrowth. The colostrum, MSM, glutamine, same, zoloft,

SNT, and 8 rounds of secretin -- well, I can't say for sure. He's better, but

it's subtle. For all I know, he got better through natural maturation.

He had the hair elements test done through Great Plains, analyzed by

Doctors' Data: 85th percentile for mercury, aluminum, nickel, off the chart

for silver, copper. I see no mention of cycstein levels, but maybe I don't

know where to look.

He has no fillings.

In the archives I read that you shouldn't use DMSA until you get rid

of high copper levels with zinc. But he seems to have a lot of zinc. The

report says: copper 72ug/g (expected range 9.0-30) and zinc 200 ug/g

(expected range 110-190). I have no idea what this means!

Zn/Cu ratio is 2.72 (expected range 4-20)

If you think I should still use zinc first, how much and for how long?

Also, I understand 50mg. DMSA and 25mg. ALA every 3-4 hours for 3

days. Then what?

Finally, DMSA is a prescription but ALA can be ordered through

Kirkman?

Thank you for all the time you take to answer questions. I'm very

grateful.

It is part of --um-- a GSDL liver panel test? I think.

It is spelled cysteine (not cystine, which is something else).

If you want to get this test done, you can get JUST a plasma

cysteine test for GSDL, or the whole " panel " .

Then you take a break for at least as many days (3 in your example),

then you do it again and again and again. This is what people

mean by " rounds " of chelation.

/files/HOW_TO_buy_DMSA

DMSA is " funny " : it is sold BOTH by prescription and over the

counter. Read above file for much more detailed info.

ALA is sold, yes, by Kirkman, and also at health food stores

all over. The file HOW_TO_buy_DMSA actaully also talks about

buying ALA, LOL.

best wishes,

Moria
