I'm so glad things are going well for you guys and you're having a chance to

get some courses under your belt. Our life was pretty good like that too

until Jan or so when things began to snowball. Someday... we'll have a

quiet year again...

Carolyn-

First of all, welcome to the list! And thanks for the support and

reassurance. You've certainly got your hands full too. We moved many times

in the early years of our marraige so I can relate to all of that. Luckily,

that was before children. The thought of moving now is daunting. We'll

just see if any of that comes to be. I've got enough other stuff to occupy

my mind :-)

Thanks again-

Thanks for the support. Misery loves company, but it also loves a reminder

that better times are sure to come. You managed to cover both bases :-)

I've learned the hard way that I have to take care of myself. So I do my

best to keep myself well.

Plus there is the thing with being a mom of young children where you have to

play with them, do the social outings with friends, etc for their benefit.

We're going to the waterpark on Wed. I don't really need or want to go, but

the kids should get some fun this summer. So off we'll go. It'll mean a

full day away from all the things that will continue to pile up on my " to

do " list. I'll enjoy it, but it wouldn't be my first choice of entertaining

day events. DJ will look at it as totally fun time without realizing that

it's truly part of my job as Mom to do those things. If I didn't have to

spend time doing Mom things (that happen to be fun) I've had lots more time

for the other things that seem to never get done. Does that make sense?

Oh-- to top it off -- DJ is trying to quit smoking! I'm so thrilled! It's

a habit I hate. Never thought he'd consider quitting -- but it's been 10

hours now :-) So he'll be fighting nicotine while I battle with

perimenopause, is doing the preteen thing, and Aubrie has her big

surgery. We're one helluva combination right now. It's funny if you don't

have to live it. Actually, I'm smiling as I type this so it's funny even if

you are living it. We all try to keep our sense of humor.

At least I got a workout in today after missing it for over a week. Boy did

that feel good! I think we've gotten the last of the nits from both Aubrie

and my hair -- spent the am at a good friend's who helped out. What a

relief if we're done with that.

Take care!

I know, except for Aubrie's surgery and other issues, our life is all

" normal " stuff. It just gets insane when her stuff is over the top. 3

friends and I were setting up for a joint garage sale last weekend. One of

the girls could never get time to get over to get her stuff priced and set

up. Yet I found time to get mine done. Granted I had 1/4 the stuff, but

she should have known when to stop gathering and when to start pricing. She

was complaining how she just didn't have time, blah, blah. Any week of mine

beats hers hands down. Can't stand to listen to it anymore. I'm getting

very impatient with regular folks and their kids... This is the gal who's

going to the waterpark with us on Wed -- send me strength! :-)

Marilyn-

I'm glad your Shriner's experience was positive. We'll actually be in St

Louis for Aubrie's surgery. However, when we went for our follow up with

the plastic surgeon in Chicago (Children's Memorial) last week, we crept at

an ave of 10 mph for over an hour. It was horrid. But we had a great time

at the zoo, restaurants, etc on our own after the am appt!

Looking forward to hearing a prompt resolution to 's joint problems.

And I am waiting to hear what you find out re: scoliosis.

Take care!

Thanks for the support. I'm so glad things worked out for with her

surgery. Usually, in my life history, something that seems like a negative

- like an unexpected job change -- turns out to be positive by opening me up

to an opportunity I would have missed if the change hadn't happened. So

let's hope that whatever comes during these next months -becomes a positive

-- even if my initial reaction is negative :-)

Aubrie's got such good friends. One of her classmates is planning his

birthday party for before her surgery (his bday is the day after) so that

she can come! Another little classmate's mom has told me over and over to

call her when Aubrie's ready for visitors cuz her little girl is anxious to

visit post-op but she doesn't want to call and intrude before we're ready.

And I'm sure they'll all be clammering to help her at school in her

wheelchair or with anything she needs.

It'll all work out. Tonight has been one of the least hectic nights that

I've had in ages so I'm feeling better. And the friend that's been annoying

me came in to the shop for lunch (something we usually do often but hadn't

in a while) and we had a great time so I'm feeling better about that too.

I'm sure we'll have fun tomorrow. It'll be so nice to have a " summer " day.

I haven't even had on a swim suit yet!

Again-- thanks for the support and prayers!
