You might want to consider another alternative. I believe Gateway EDI can work

the 5010 edits for you through their system (they are a clearinghouse).

If you want to call them, their number is 800/969-3666. We've been a client of

theirs for 11 years.

Billing Software Advice

Hello All,

We are currently using PTOS 3.6 for billing. We have the disc to upgrade to

4.5, but haven't made the switch yet. With the upcoming 5010 Conversion, we

either have to upgrade to 4.5, pay extra to have our current billing system

convert to the proper form to the electronic clearing house or use a new billing

system all together.

I am planning on testing out 4.5 soon before deciding if we want to go live, due

to all the issues PTOS had with their new software, I'm very hesitant to use

4.5.

Has anyone had any experience with the switch to 4.5 or if you use 4.5, how do

you like the functionality? If you are currently utilizing another software

that you recommend, please feel free to share that information as well.

We currently use Microsoft Outlook for our scheduling, but hope to either get

the Scheduling Software with PTOS (if we upgrade) or find a new program all

together that does billing and scheduling.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

We have found that 4.5 is much more cumbersome to use than was 3.6. Posting

payments is particularly troublesome. We switched because of the 5010

requirements but if there are other good alternatives to an upgrade you

might be wise to go that direction.
