Hello all,

I am requesting groups opinion on an important matter. We are an out patient

clinic and we have a team system with each team having two PTAs and one PT.

My first question is does such a team structure justifies extra amount of

administrative time for PT ?

Second question is regarding assessments for progress notes and certifications.

For continued therapy is it okay to have PTAs do assessments/measurements/data

and have PTs use their assessments/measurements/data for completing

certifications, progress notes ? Are PTAs allowed to do assessments ?

Or

Is it necessary for PTs to do assessments/measurements/data on their own to

complete the progress note/certifications.

Thanks

Good Morning,

These questions would best be answered by a fellow clinician within your state.

Medicare Part B requires for every tenth visit by a PTA, a PT needs to see the

patient.

As far as ratios and assessments, I would first start with perusing your

state's practice act.

In a past life, I supervised care as a Regional in five states, and had practice

acts for each to determine good business.

I would also recommend contacting your State APTA Chapter.

Happy Holidays to all....
