Hi Vicki,

I'm in London UK and it's snowing at the moment!

Where are you all from?!

Hi everyone! I was reading Amy's reply about Dave's flare-up and she

mentioned a friends maternity leave in the UK. I was just wondering

if the majority of you are in the US? I live in Northern Ireland,

but I'm originally from Scotland- I moved over here when I was 16.

I'm now 26, married to Darran and we have 2 children: Leona who is

nearly 5 and who is 2. As you can imagine, I'm glad my

parents dragged me over here, and I wouldn't change it for the

world!! I was diagnosed with IgAN last month after having

proteinuria and high blood pressure since my first pregnancy five

years ago. I'm still a bit shocked but it helps when you realise

there are so many other people going through the same thing.

Anyway, I hope everyone is well. My husband isn't working this

weekend so hopefully I'll get lots of cups of tea made for me- I'm

very easily pleased!!

At current moment I am in St. Louis, Missouri. I was born in Alaska

and then went to New Mexico then Texas then Germany then Washington

state then back to Alaska and then we drove from Alaska to Texas and

somehow landed in Missouri. My dad was army. I have lived in St.

Louis for 3 years now with my 5 year old son who has Down Syndrome.

We moved here so that he could get more help and have more options.

Hi Vicki

I'm from Kingston, Ontario, Canada. Kingston is about half way between

Ottawa and Toronto (for those who know Canadian geography).

I was diagnosed with IgAN in 1980 via biopsy. I'm 39 now. My Creat

level is reaching 400, and I'm looking at a possible pre-emptive

transplant in the (probably) no too distant future. I've recently began

Aranesp (www.aranesp.com) shots to treat my anemia. Feel OK considering

though.

Curtis - married, two kids - Tyler (5) and (2).

Hi Curtis,

I am sorry to hear you are nearing the point where you need a transplant. A

preemptive is the plan for me as well, but I am hoping Cellcept can keep me

stable for another two years at least before that happens.

I think you will find the injections will make you feel much better. I have

been on Epo for several years, and as far as I am concerned, it is a miracle

drug that gave me my life back. It made a huge difference in correcting my

anemia and giving me more energy.

I hope you feel much better too.

Geez, my origins seem so boring compared to many of you.

Just born and raised in plain, boring Ottawa, within sight of the Peace

Tower. In most of downtown, they still roll up the sidewalks at night :)

Hi Vicki,

I like in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. I moved here from Vancouver

about 7 years ago. Like you, I wouldn't change it for the world

either - here in Calgary is where I met my husband Kris. We've been

married 4.5 months.
