Guest guest
An infection in 2 hours? What kind? Meconian? Strep? Something you already had or something introduced by the induction? And if so..why? it usually takes longer than 2 hours for normal infection to set in especially if proper sterile procedure was used...did they tell you that this was rather strange? The last two times my contractions were no worse than period pains. They would get slower and slower then finally stop altogether for an hour or so and then I would be ready to push. The only bit that hurt was delivering the head but that was only a matter seconds anyway. My middle child, the midwife sent me to hospital(I had planned a home birth) because she thought labour had stopped. I almost had him in the ambulance! He was born 3 minutes after I got to the delivery suite. With my daughter I warned the midwives so when the same thing happened we waited and she was born at home. I'm just glad I was at home, if I'd been in hospital the doctors would have interferred with me for sure! Guest guest
Cherie, I have had more labor with my two then you have with ten. I have a combined total of 43 hours with two. 26 hours with Kaija and 17 hours with Zaid neither induced and both born with no drugs. Kaija at a birth center and Zaid at home. Both times my labor was induced with membrane stripping. I am one of those women it works for. I just seem to take my time having babies. BTW they were both overdue. Guest guest
, I had my waters broken with both mine but not until between 9-10 centimeters. I had to. It felt like I was pushing against a wall with my son and with my dd I was stuck at 9 1/2cm and was not progressing. Once the water was broken both were born within 30 min. Guest guest
I was in very early labor when i got to the hospital with paige. they kept me for observation for 2 hours because i was dehydrated and paige's heartrate was higher than they wanted it to be. After those tow hours her rate was fine and i was a 3 cm so they decided to keep me and break my water. then they put me on pictocin(sp) i labored for 16 hours... then got an epidural... then had breakthrough pain 45minutes later.. they gave me more epidural... breakthrough pains 45 minutes later... and after 188 hours of labor and pic. i was only at 4 cm. at that time they were worried about me getting an infection... and i got a c-section. that is the short version of the story. It wasn't very fun and I am not proud of it. I feel some of the decisions that were made could have been chosen differently and had different outcomes, BUT I have the most beautiful daughter:) and that makes anything worth it:) Jenn (24) DH:Andy DD:Paige (1-13-99) homepage: http://www.geocities.com/heartland/cottage/1595
