Guest guest
Group, As we all become paperless, I ask about common practices for patient sign-in. Considering patient preference, HIPAA, paper flow/efficiency and all, we are thinking about doing away with our practice of one sign-in sheet that stays in a patient's chart. In our practice, the patient arrives, signs-in to their sheet in their chart at each visit. Questions: 1) Could we go to a common sign-in sheet, printed with every patient coming in that day? 2) Are there electronic applications available (patient confidentially signs with a stylus on a screen, for example) 3) What is THE best practice considering HIPAA, efficiency and regulatory issues.
