Guest guest
I recently got out of the hospital following what was supposed to be a minor surgical procedure lasting 45 minutes to an hour. However due to a minor surgical mistake, which lacerated my artery, I underwent five hours of surgical help and a stay in the cardiac care unit. At least the implantation of a cardiac defibrillator was supposed to be a minor surgery operation. I wish to tell all the diabetics out there that the hospitals do not know how to care for you. They gave me a midnight or night time snack which contained around 90 carbs, enough to last me at least two or three meals. I do not eat night time snacks at all. So when you go to the hospital be sure to take your very own glucose meter, your humalog or Lantus and medications. Remember it is you who has diabetes, and it is up to you to manage your very own blood glucose levels. Of course the surgeon had two tries at me and fortunately I survived both attempts to save my life by this surgeon. It was also fortunate that another vascular surgeon was on call at this same hospital. Otherwise I may not be here today. Of course we all know the doctors can do no wrong, just a slight mistake. Now I have to decide to whether or not to give this same surgeon a third attempt to save my life. I did tell him that if his third attempt failed that he was finished with any more procedures on my life. Three strikes and he is out or I am.
