Lymphedema & Wound Clinic Questions

Hi all.

This is unsavory but I am hoping to gain knowledge from someone who's solved

these issues.

1) There is an unfortunate smell that is sometimes associated with infected

wounds and/or poor hygiene with lymphedema wraps.  Q: How do you mask the smell

or clean the air?  Related, do you have UV lights (or anything else) to inhibit

bacterial growth?  Negative air exchange?

2) How do your staff lift/reposition heavy dependent legs?  Our therapists risk

injuries as they brace the patient's leg on their thighs and hoist thighs, etc.

Any safe lifting techniques or lift devices that you use?

Thank you.
