Question regarding development

I have a question for all you experienced mommies and daddies...Cory is 6

1/2 weeks and we are actively attachment parenting him (this is a new

concept but is fitting our lifestyle better and better each day!) My

question is this...I have a hard time putting him down even to go potty and

carry him most of the day. In the evenings, we lay on a pad on the floor to

talk and play. He will lay for about 30 minutes before being fussy and

HATES to be on his tummy on the floor. Is this going to delay is

develpoment with regards to motor skills? He loves being rocked, cuddled

and will sit in his " jiggle " seat when I am washing dishes or doing

laundry...(he's always about 2 feet from me 24/7!!!) But other than that

he's in the snuggly on me or just simply in my arms. I was just surious

about his muscle development and whether I should try to put him on his

tummy more often for shorter periods or what.

Well, even if someone suggested to put him down, I don't think I could! I

feel a little lost like I am losing precious time with him when he's not in

my arms. The time is flying by and it hardly seems like it's been 6 weeks

already!

being put on his tummy we didn't do it much at all until about 4 months.

He started pulling himself around on the floor about 2 weeks later. He is

now running, stacking blocks and doing all the things he should. He was

VERY shy for a long time and was always in my arms in a social setting

until about 1-2 months ago. Now he is waving at strangers and not too shy

at all. Do what feels right in your heart, he will tell you when he is

ready to be put down. Sounds like Cory is one lucky little guy. Keep

trusting yourself and all will be well.
