Guest guest
Hi Dawn Well it looks like you and I have something in common... I was hoping you didn't have it but I'm glad you got it checked out. Are you currently seeing a pulmonary doctor? Here's a site with a little info on the JO-1, I'll hunt down some more for you. click here Having the Jo-1 antibody can make it more difficult to get the PM under control. For reasons yet unknown, my doctors find the JO-1 patients have more muscle pain than others. It's very important that you find a Pulmonary doctor that can follow your lung progress. Your also taking Methx and one of the side effect of this drug is pneumonia... Because I'm JO-1 my Pulmonary doctor didn't want me on Methx for fear of developing pneumonia. I had the lung biopsy and the results came back as: Interstitial Lung Disease, BOOP, Collagen Vascular Disease. The Interstitial disease turned into Pulmonary Fibrosis a year later. Even though I had normal labs a couple months after getting out of the hospital, I was still very weak and could hardly breathe well enough to walk ten feet. That's when we tried the Enbrel. Since I started the Enbrel my lung disease hasn't progressed at all. You are very young to be going through all of this but being young has it's advantages... you can pop back and heal faster than a person my age. Your doctor is right... you shouldn't work any longer. It's very important to rest and save your strength for repair work. Make sure you also get a disability tag for your car so you won't have to walk too far. I'll do some more checking, but please ask your family doctor who is the best Pulmonary doctor for you and schedule an appt.
