Guest guest
Good Afternoon, We are currently using MD Online for our clearing house and PTOS for billing. We are looking at using Emdeon as our new clearing house. It's a fair amount more expensive than MD Online but has the ability to do real time claims management, which would be nice to 'easily' go to a website and find out how much a patient has met toward deductibles, co-insurance, co-pay information, etc. Now, I'm not sure how 'real time' this data is and if we would still have to call each insurance to actually verify the validity of the information we received. So, my first question: Is anyone using Emdeon for their clearinghouse and also using them for real-time adjudication and what are your thoughts, pros and cons? I feel like part of the extra cost in using Emdeon is the adjudication. Is there another source that clinics are using for the adjudication process that they recommend? We use Availity, but only find that helps with BCBS, all other insurances don't seem to give us accurate data. And calling each insurance takes a fair amount of time, I'd rather stream-line this process. Thanks for any and all reponses! Sincerely, Westerberg, PT Owner CORE Strategies PT Overland Park, KS
