Oooh, have a read of Three in a Bed by ?Deborah (can't be bothered

to go up and check!) and you'll discover that you *do* have permission to

sleep with your baby! Think there's loads of co-sleeping going on on this

list isn't there?

and Martha Sears, a couple of California pediatric people (he's

a

paed, she's a nurse and LLL leader), have written a bunch of books

about

babies and children. They are firm advocates of breastfeeding and the

'family bed' in whatever combination works best for you (baby and older

children in your bed or right by it or not, depending on the child's

needs) I had only heard of them, but even before I read any of it,

Calvin

was in our bed because we couldn't get him to sleep anywhere else.

Reading

their book " Nighttime Parenting " just made me feel more comfortable

about

what we were already doing.

Since then, Calvin has decided sleeping in his own bed isn't so bad,

but

almost always ends up in our bed at about 5 am, when I just want to

stay

in bed, but he wants to eat before he goes back to sleep.
