SSI has a scale they go by to determine disability. They look at your legs and hands. Do the stregnth tests etc... It's nothing bad. It should be all the same as you have had before. If you are denied appeal. Most that apply for SSI have to see the SSI Drs. jenny
Guest guest
My SSI application has for the most part, gone through, there were some serious problems obtaining my medical records from the University, so it took longer and everything. I have had the fortunate luck to be dealing with a man at the SSI office who is nothing but nice and tolerant of my calls & questions and all that. So... i have an appt. with an SSI dr on the 21st, and i know i have a nervous disposition and all, but i'm worried sick. What should i expect? The University of Minnesota-Minneapolis lost some parts of my medical records, i've been trying to get them for SSI for months now. Its finally come down to an appointment, or at least thats what the gentleman i've been talking to at SSI tells me. My physical evaluation and EMG/NCV results are gone. They have my physical therapy reports, my Pain Management stuff for medications i was taking and all that, and my gene test, but thats it. I am a really nervous person, and i'm worried about the whole thing. My EMG & NCV that i had performed at the U of M was the single most hellish experience of my life, mostly due to the treatment i recieved from the doctors, they were more interested in what happens if they shock me with more and more electricity than they were with me individually or the pain i was going through, one experience i promised myself i wouldnt ever have to repeat (if i get a vote) Will they do that again? Are the SSI doctors nice, for the most part? i'm just scared, and i was hoping anyone out there had gone through this, had any advice that might make me feel better. i've only got ten days to go... i havent been able to get to the doctor enough to document anything, when i got fired from my job, in Feb. my insurance went out from underneath me. Is documentation of the progression of my CMT since Feb. something they'll expect? i desperately do not want to go through the EMG & NCV ever again, i hope that wont come up. i talked to a lawyer i knew from a friend through my job, and he told me documentation of the last four-five months will be something they'll want. He said he doesn't know what they do during evaluation, since the situation differs from person to person. He doesnt know anything about CMT, but everyone on this list does, and some of you have had to deal with, or are still dealing with Social Security. i just thought i'd ask... . __________________________________________________
