Guest guest
A quick review of the Chiro practice act says they may provide " physiotherapy " . Last year, I was reviewing one of the curriculums for Logan chiro school and noticed they had either electives or standard classes in Physical Therapy. It seems the chiro colleges are putting out the language; so, it's unlikely that the students understand how they are trashing another profession. Below is one example of their curriculum Trimester 7 Health Center Practicum Specialized Elective Technique, Principles of Physical Therapy, Professional Development Diagnostic Imaging, Endocrinology, Gastrointestinal-Urogenital Diagnosis, Geriatrics Research Methodology Steve Passmore PT, MS Healthy Recruiting Tools spass@... Lake Worth Chiropractic Care Helps Manage Low Back Pain Caused by Sciatica Anyone in Florida know if there is a PT in the house? I can't find one on the website. Lake Worth Chiropractic Care Helps Manage Low Back Pain Caused by Sciatica LAKE WORTH, FL, Mar 13, 2012 (MARKETWIRE via COMTEX) -- Dr. Jack Cacic Chiropractic in Lake Worth, FL is using chiropractic care to help patients struggling with low back pain, hip pain, and other chronic pain. According to Dr. Cacic, the practice's chiropractor, a herniated or compressed disc can put pressure on nearby nerves, causing chronic pain. Spinal adjustments can help restore proper alignment to the body, relieving pressure on the nerves. The wellness center offers spinal adjustments, massage therapy, and physical therapy for natural pain management. The practice serves the Palm Springs, West Palm Beach, Boynton Beach, Lantana and Green Acres communities. Lake Worth chiropractor Dr. Jack Cacic announced his success treating chronic low back pain, hip pain and sciatica using non-invasive spinal adjustments. These treatments focus on correcting the underlying cause for pain, providing long-term relief. " Chiropractic care is different from traditional medical care, " said Dr. Cacic. " While medication can provide pain relief, drugs work by 'covering up' pain, rather than correcting the underlying cause. Chiropractic care is different. My goal is to identify and correct the underlying cause for a patient's pain, such as a herniated disc. " Natural wear and tear, an auto accident injury or personal injury can all cause a misalignment of the musculoskeletal system. For example, the traumatic force of an auto accident can force the spine beyond its normal range of motion, causing a disc to slip out of place. If the disc compresses nearby nerves, patients will experience chronic pain. Sciatica occurs when a herniated or compressed disc puts pressure on the sciatic nerve in the lower back. This pressure can cause a radiating pain sensation in the legs, lower back and buttocks -- preventing patients from living an active life. As long as the disc continues to compress the sciatic nerve, patients will experience pain. " Patients with chronic back pain or hip pain do not have to compromise their active lifestyle, " said Dr. Cacic. " Thanks to advancements in chiropractic adjustments, a chiropractor can help restore alignment to the body and relieve pressure on the nerves. Whether this is a new or on-going chronic condition, it is never too late to get healthy! " According to Dr. Cacic, chiropractic adjustments work by creating space in the spine. When the spine is compressed after an injury, there is not enough space for the vertebrae and discs to be aligned. Spinal adjustments, however, create new space in the spine, allowing the compressed disc to return to its proper position and no longer compress the sciatic nerve. " Chiropractic adjustments work because they focus on the underlying cause for an injury, rather than simple managing the symptoms, " said Dr. Cacic. " Not only do adjustments provide immediate pain relief, but by correcting the underlying problem, they ensure patients can live an active life. " The practice also offers massage therapy and *physical therapy treatments*. These complementary therapies are designed to enhance pain relief and speed internal healing. Massage therapy, for example, stimulates the flow of oxygenated blood, which studies show helps to flush out waste from the muscles. Physical therapy may also help restore movement, flexibility and coordination to the body.
