Our facility is looking at compensation and the question has come up about

equity/inequity of professional salaries between PT, OT and Speech. Does anyone

have any guidelines re: whether PT, OT and SLP salary ranges should be the same,

or is one profession routinely higher on the compensation scale?

I am not looking for dollar amounts, just whether PTs are routinely paid higher

than OTs. Or are PTs and OTs routinely paid the same, but SLPs are paid less.

Or are PTs, OTs and SLPs all paid within the same range?

Thank you for any guidelines you can provide.

Several years ago, our hospital made the decision to put PTs, OTs and STs all

within the same salary range. I feel it is so much more equitable that way.

COTAs and PTAs are also in the same salary range as each other.
