Guest guest
I am relatively new to the world of Industrial Rehab (I have not practiced in this area myself, and am now managing it -- but still not a care provider..). I have two employees who have been working in this department for over 20 years.. and so while they do have a vast amount of knowledge and experience; they are also very " old-school, " and I am not convinced that they are keeping up to date with rules and regs. Can anyone direct me to any information, tools, etc on the rules/regs/requirements for industrial rehab programs.. from documentation requirements to billing.. etc. Anything would be helpful. Examples: how much does one have to document for an 8-hour work conditioning session, and how does it all show skilled intervention (or does it need to?) I am told they do not need daily notes for these patients either... although if they are dropping charges, I don't know how that is possible. Please advise! Feel free to contact me directly. Thank you- Weiss Director, Rehab Services Schwab Rehabilitation Hospital Chicago, IL
Guest guest
Your best bet to start is to review your state practice act and to make sure you meet baseline regulatory supervision and documentation guidelines. I would also check the history of payments based on bills submitted. Are these contractual agreements or work comp billing? Guest guest
I use the FCE from WorkSTEPS. It is based similar to their post-offer testing, but has multiple validity tests built into the FCE. From what WorkSTEPS has told me they have had several providers in court without any problems supporting their FCE and the findings.
