Guest guest
Trigeminal Neuralgia Hi everyone..........For those of you who have TN, would you explain how it effects you in detail. Where it starts, how it feels, if it spreads to other areas besides the face/jaw. What do you do to stop the attacks, or is yours a constant condition now. I have been having several attacks, with maybe a week or two inbetween where nothing, then one morning I wake up and BAM!!! This last one has been lasting for 3 days now, and the only thing that helps is to keep taking the valium, and using hot packs. Mine seem to start in my neck, but it may be really on my face near my ear and I can't feel it except where it refers to. It spreads across the front of my neck towards the base of my skull, and then it feels like the nerves are misfiring and volts of electricity are zapping me. The pain is so bad it leaves me feeling weak, and exhausted. I've done some reading about TN, and because the problem starts in the brain, it seems logical there is some kind of compression or lesion as a possible cause? I know an MRI would give me my answers, but right now my insurance is such that until I meet my deduct. I'll have to pay for it. That hasn't happened yet. :-( I just wanted you who have this or know about it, tell me what your experience is with it. Thanks, Hugs Jackie [from Oregon]
