Guest guest
Hello collegues- I would like to hear how other facilities are handling performance reviews for individuals they might supervise who are outside their own particular discipline. We are a realtively small organization and have a very flat organizational structure without discipline specific therapy leads or levels. Simply a therapy supervisor who oversees all the PT, OT and Speech staff at their particular site. TJC Standard HR.01.06.01 requires that performance be evaluated by someone with the clinical training, knowledge, and competence to assess the skills of the practitioner. In their last visit to us, TJC determined that a PT could not evaluate the performance of an OT or Speech therapist and visa versa. We have used a peer review system in the past to collect data/feedback that we integrate into the performance appraisal. That did not meet TJC's needs. Any additional suggestions on how to improve on this ? Thanks very much!
