I hate to look at this but have a client in another state who slow paid half his invoice then stopped paying. Amount is too large for small claims court. I suspect I cannot recover the court/collection costs since we did not have a contract that specified this would be covered. What kinds of things should I look for in an agency and do I look for a local in his state (NC) or national firm. I had done occasional business with the customer for 2 years and he always paid on time. I am past making a profit and just trying to recover my direct costs. This is obviously something that I find deeply upsetting to consider; but, I need to look at it and want to limit my expenses. Steve Passmore PT, MS Healthy Recruiting Tools spass@... Guest guest
Hi Rick, Do you think that at some point hospital-based OP will be pulled into the circle on this? With pay-for-performance ramping up currently & in the coming few years, I am wondering if this could be a way for CMS to capture data on Hospital OP as well? I'm not looking for definitive information, but your (or any other 'expert' on this listserv) opinion would be valuable. I know you have your finger on the pulse of what is happening & CMS usually does not make changes without some sense in the community about the blowing winds of possible changes in the future. The reason I ask, is b/c we are formalizing the outcome tools that each department will be using & we want to invest our time & resources in the right place for both our PT & OT departments (ST is using the NOMS). Thank you!
