Dear a:Please forgive me for not answering you! I understand that pain. I know you are in an area without much of a choice in neuros so it's hard to switch. Would it be too hard to go to Phoenix to see a neuro? I did a search on Arizona's Medical Board and found 5 neuros now. Your town must be growing. I'll email you off list with the info I have. I'm so sad that you are having this degree of neuropathic pain. (((((hugs))))Sharonhttp://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/MSersHEALTH/This email is a natural hand made product. The slight variations in spelling and grammar enhance its individual character and beauty and in no way are to be considered flaws or defects. Pain, anxiety, depression, swallowing, walking all getting worse

I don't write often, but I read the mail and always wish the best for all of you. Someone asked about neuropathic pain - I am down to just taking narcotics - oxycodone 40 mg am and pm and 5 mg, 2-4, every four hours. It doesn't really help much and I don't take it unless I can't stand the pain anymore. I have tried just about everything, but they are all the same - no relief. Lyrica make me gain weight fast, so I took myself off of it. Cymbalta didn't help with the pain or the depression. Neurontin just seemed to make me sleepy all the time which make my family upset. I do take baclofen, mirapex, lexapro, the oxycondone, klonopin. If I don't take the baclofen, mirapex and klonpin, I get spasms.

I have had severe pain in my right leg for over six months now, mostly from the thigh down, on the outside and back. Lately, it has gotten so bad that sometimes cannot stand on it at all and have had to get a scooter. My foot also slopes downward from the big toe to the little toe and won't straighten up. Does anyone have anything like this? I have recently started hurting in my other leg, both arms and my hands and fingers also; my hands go into contractures and I keep dropping things. About 3:00 in the afternoon, I start getting anxious and depressed, have more pain which buils up over the evening, and usually get chills. Sound familiar to anyone?

My leg also has lymphedema in it and I have to wrap it when it gets really big and swollen; otherwise wear compression stockings every day and for rest of my life they say - don't know what causes it or what else to do for it.

I tried physical therapy, had MRIs of my back and films because every one I say swore it ws my back causing the problem. I

finally got into the back surgeon last week, and he said it has nothing at all to do with my back and doesn't know what it is unless it is my MS worsening.

Sionce MS I have developed diabetes and hypothyroidism along with the above problems. I just don't know how much more I can take. I know most of you feel just as back and some worse and just wonder if you have any suggestions. I see my neuro Monday for the first time in about six months, but I don't have much hope as he told me six months ago it was all in my back! He did get angry that I quit taking my neurontin, so I guess I should start aking it again before Monday.

Thanks for "listening" - sorry this was so long.

Peace and at least some relief for us all.

PJ
