Question regarding Liability Insurance

Hi All!

I have a small PT private clinic in Illinois and I recently moved to a different

country. My question is this:

Do I need to continue my personal liability insurance at my clinic in the

states, even though I am not currently practicing there? I am afraid to cancel

my membership since I don't know if I am still liable for our patients. I don't

know when I will be back, but I have other therapists working for me and they

each have their own liability insurance through my clinic.

Thank you in advance for your prompt reply.

Sincerely,

Rhoda Astronomo, PT, DPT

Do you have a claims made policy or an occurrence policy? Can your clinic be

vicariously liable for claims made against the other therapists working for

you? Have you spoken with your carrier to see what risk(s) you may have if you

cancel? Just some initial questions to consider.
