Guest guest
We can definatly relate. We have tried everything under the sun. A product called " calm " helps. P5P is a huge help as long as you use liquid DMG by food science. If all else fails I would try small dose of Respadone. That is by prescription only. I need some ideas for calming supplements for my 6 yr-old son. His pushing and kicking other kids is getting way out of hand, and time-outs aren't working. Today he tried to push an infant out of its mother's arms. He thinks he's playing a game when he pushes and kicks, but it hurts and the other kids never think it's funny. His teacher is getting to the end of her rope with him. Our DAN will give us an rx for oxytocin next week, and we've tried the max dose of GABA, which only helped a little. What else can I give him? We're struggling to get back on the gfcf diet after being off for more than a year, so that's part of the problem. His yeast is not under control yet, either. We're all really stressed over here. Any suggestions?

Guest guest
1000 mg of 5htp 2x a day and gaba, which you are using. All kids are different my son goes bonkers on B6 has horrible crying and aggression and does awesome on the methyl B12 shots. You just have to try different things. Also taurine is supposed to be calming but it competes with glutathione so I wouldn't use it. I need some ideas for calming supplements for my 6 yr-old son. Theanine may be useful for the treatment of Anxiety (due to its ability to stimulate the generation of (relaxing) Alpha Waves in the Brain). Threonine may alleviate Anxiety. Tryptophan may alleviate Anxiety. Tyrosine may alleviate Anxiety. Animal-Derived Supplements Stabilium may alleviate Anxiety - the effect of Stabilium is described as being mild. long-term and subjectively subtle (compared to the powerful but short-term effects of Benzodiazepines). Anxiety may occur as a result of Iron deficiency. Anxiety patients are often deficient in Magnesium and supplemental Magnesium (400 - 900 mg per day) may alleviate some cases of Anxiety. Anxiety may occur as a result of Potassium deficiency. Anxiety may occur as a result of Selenium deficiency and supplemental Selenium may reduce Anxiety in such patients. Neurotransmitters Gamma Aminobutyric Acid (GABA) prevents Anxiety messages from reaching the motor centers of the Brain by filling the Benzodiazepine Receptors within the Brain - Vitamin B3 and Inositol are essential cofactors for this process. Low levels of Histamine may cause Anxiety. Anxiety may occur as a result of insufficient production of Serotonin. Polyphenols Apigenin may alleviate Anxiety (by binding to and activating Benzodiazepine Receptors). Chrysin binds to and activates Benzodiazepine Receptors - this activation of Benzodiazepine Receptors may help to alleviate Anxiety. Ferulic Acid may alleviate Anxiety. Gamma Oryzanol may alleviate Anxiety. Smart Drugs Centrophenoxine may alleviate Anxiety. Dilantin may reduce Anxiety. Dimethylaminoethanol (DMAE) may alleviate Anxiety. Gamma-Hydroxybutyric Acid (GHB) may alleviate Anxiety (by enhancing the function of Gamma Aminobutyric Acid). Gerovital (GH-3) may alleviate Anxiety (especially in the elderly). Vitamins Folic Acid (especially when administered concurrently with Vitamin B12) may alleviate Anxiety. Inositol may alleviate Anxiety (by enhancing the ability of GABA to bind to the Benzodiazepine Receptors in the Brain). Vitamin B1 may alleviate many cases of Anxiety (by activating the Pyruvate Dehydrogenase enzyme, thereby inhibiting the conversion of Pyruvic Acid to Lactic Acid - Lactic Acid is an underlying cause of Anxiety). The Niacinamide form of Vitamin B3 (1,000 - 6,000 mg per day) may alleviate Anxiety (by enhancing the ability of GABA to bind to the Benzodiazepine Receptors within the Brain). Vitamin B6 may alleviate Anxiety. Vitamin B12 (administered concurrently with Folic Acid) may alleviate Anxiety. Anxiety may increase the body's requirements for Vitamin C. Guest guest
The only med he's on is nizoral right now. I increased his probiotic by 1/4 recently and his behavior seemed to get worse so I dropped it back down several days ago, but the behavior hasn't eased--if anything, it's gotten more intense, so I don't know if the probiotic had anything to do with it. I'm really confused as to why this is happening. Could an allergic reaction to mold cause sensory aggression? His recent Iga test showed a huge delayed immune response to mold. Is he also using a med that increases aggressiveness? Like Seroquel? > > I need some ideas for calming supplements for my 6 yr-old son. Guest guest
Some other ADHD/aggression stuff we have heard used are pycnogenol and lithium (supplement not RX)What we are doing daily for these symptoms are GABA, L-theanine, 5htp (low dose), magnesium taurate, Respen-A and then he gets a bunch of other stuff not necessarily related. But melatonin at night is supposed to level off moods during theday I think. The oxytocin should help! We are going to try that with my daughter, I think. Guest guest
I agree with the yeast and diet, although the yeast has never really been under control, and we've been off the diet for a year, but these behaviors started (again) around the beginning of school this fall. This all happened the fall of last year too, and then completely went away in the summer, only to start up again this September. We've had recent tests for clostridia and pandas, both negative. We also had recent blood tests for seasonal allergens. Most were negative except for mold, which he has a big delayed immune response to. We've just started allergy drops for mold. Aggression can be caused by clostidia and/or PANDAS. Clostridia can be found thru a urine lab est at Genova Diagnostics and PANDAS can be diagnosed by symtoms www.pandasnetwork.org Yeast and diet may also be the the culprit.
