We hope it is soon. We as Canadians can bring the Voice meters up to Canada and claim it under medical at income tax time with a prescription from your doctor saying that his/her patient is blind, needs a talking blood glucose meter, and that there is none available in Canada so needs a Prodigy Voice meter. If you do want to bring the meter up from the States, these are the two distributors I recommend. These are Advanced Diabetic Solutions of Georgia at 1- and Home Care supply of America at 1-. The kit includes a Prodigy Voice meter, a lancing device, 10 lancets, 10 test strips, a bottle of control solution, a cap for alternat site testing, a carrying case, 2 AAA batteries, and an audible user's manual on CD. The prices are in U.S. dollars and are different though. Advanced Diabetic Solutions of Georgia charges 119.00 which includes shipping and handling but also includes 50 test strips and 50 lancets. Extra bottles of 50 test strips are 34.95 each or 2 for 60.00 which includes shipping and handling. Home Care Supply of America charges 89.95 plus 2.95 for shipping and handling but they only have the 10 test strips and 10 lancets. Extra bottles of 50 test strips cost 21.95 each plus 2.95 for shipping and handling. If anyone has any other questions, you can contact me off list at ruthh@.... Hope this helps.
