Not sure as to the APTA stance on the codes but we have been using the CPT 95992

for canalith repositioning for a while now. It has worked well but we did get

some denials when the ICD-9 code was not specifically BPPV (386.11). If it was a

any other vertigo ICD-9(many codes for this)or a dizziness (780.4)ICD-9 code

then CPT 95992 was denied. This makes some logic sense as canalith repositioning

95992 is specific to BPPV.

billing for Canalith repositioning

Hi Group

My therapist gave me something today from APTA that states that we are

no longer allow to bill 97112(neuro re-ed) for or vestbular manuver

treatment. It says that we should bill using CPT code 95992.

I know this issue has been going back and forth. Can someone tell me if

things have changed and we should be using 95992 code now.

with healthy wishes

Sincerely,

A question for the group:

Do any of you have AEDs (Automated External Defibrillator) in your

outpatient facilities?
