Guest guest
I learned how to do it from my daughter's OT. I did it for a bit. The protocol calls for doing it every 90-120 mins, and I found that impossible because at the time my daughter was in OT, I had another child to care for... plus then she started pre-k. But if you have the time and dedication, I am sure it will help! We found swimming to be a good balancer of my daughter's sensory needs. She was swimming daily the summer after we did OT, and she was nearly NT during the summer. It really helped her. Hello, I have been doing some research and this protocol just seemed to make sense to me. Also, parents have confirmed that it is helping their kids. I just went on Amazon and I purchased the surgical brush and handle for the brush. I'm also about to start something called Superbrain Yoga. You can Google that as well or just check out these things on youtube to get an idea of how its done. It seems like it could benefit some kids so I wanted to see if anyone here has tried it. If not, I thought I'd post just to give people something interesting to research. Take care. -- Toni------Mind like a steel trap...Rusty and illegal in 37 states. Guest guest
Thanks for your response Toni. How cool that your daughter was so much improved with swimming! My son has tried to swim in the past and he didn't get any help from it but maybe it was a chlorine sensitivity issue. He does love to be in the pool, so I look forward to the summer, but I just limit the amount of time because we don't have access to a chlorine-free pool. Thank you. > > > > > > > Hello, > > > > I have been doing some research and this protocol just seemed to make sense > > to me. Also, parents have confirmed that it is helping their kids. Guest guest
This is very valuable. I also learned how to do this from my son's OT. When he was younger he could not even endure speech therapy without running away (crying, screaming. hiding) but when I did this with him he sat and the most important thing he was really happy-happy. We did used to have to do it several times a day but now he knows when he needs it and he can go bounce or run or roll or he's receptive when I tell him to do those things. I still do it in doctors offices (nerves) or at home a couple times a week.

Guest guest
Oh yeah... we live in Florida and have a backyard pool. (One of my stipulations for moving here! LOL) We do have a salt generator, still makes chlorine but I think it's less to worry about. Plus it's outside and the chlorine gas doesn't accumulate. Thanks for your response Toni.
