Guest guest
- If your state has direct access, even a piano teacher -- or the patient herself -- may self refer. A Medicare Certification however, requires an MD, DO, or DPM -- or their ARNP/PA, if state law permits that. Guest guest
Anyone can refer. My Grandmother can refer. What I think you're asking is if a naturopath can sign off on a plan of care for a Medicare patient. The answer to that is no. Naturopaths and Chiropractors are not considered physicians under Medicare .... That is to say that they cannot sign off on a Medicare plan of care. Functionally, it is a non-issue. Make two copies of the eval. Send one copy to the Naturopath and the other to the patient's primary care physician. M.
