Question about supplies

Hi all, I have a question? I now have two glucose meters the advocate and the

prodigy voice. I'd like to keep the advocate as a back and get the strips for it

but want the prodigy voice to be my main meter. The supplies for each of the

meters are coming from different companies. I'm just wondering will medicare pay

for both strips or just one. If just one then do I need to take out of pocket

money for say the advocate strips?

I thought maybe someone would know. I wasn't sure who to call to ask about stuff

like this.

Maybe my health care plan?

I can't say for sure, but you might have some trouble if you try to have

Medicare or your insurance pay for strips and supplies from 2 different

companies/suppliers. The thing to do might be to call your insurance company

(or Medicare), even though this might be a pain in the neck.

rickie, i have two different meters and the strips are paid for no matter which

one i pick up. but often they will confuse the proper one ordered and will have

ready the wrong strips. so when i pick up i check the bag before i even leave

the counter at the pharmacy. karen
