You can start with the regulations and guidance section of the CMS.gov

website. This covers the conditions of participation. You then want to

contact the regional office for your area. The map link is provided below.

http://www.cms.gov/About-CMS/Agency-Information/RegionalOffices/RegionalMap.html

Once you determine your office this is how you contact them:

ect=/RegionalOffices/

You would be given a survey worksheet for the items that would be reviewed

prior to operational approval.

We don't. It's all part of the Obama administration anti-business task force.

Medicare Part B Clinic Survey

Does anyone know where to find a list of site requirements for Medicare Part B

oupatient clinics?

I called my local carrier (Palmetto) and requested a list of requirements, but

they said they didn't know and that they outsourced surveys to MSM Security,

which I also called. They told me the information was protected and not

available for release. So how do new clinics know what the requirements are?

Hi, Josh -

You'll need to know which of the several types of Part B provider you plan

to be. Then, you may find the Conditions of Participation in the State

Operations Manual.

This past weekend, I was at a conference of Private Practitioners, some of

which were PTPP, some Rehab Agency (OPT), and even a CORF or two! While

patient Part B coverage is pretty consistent, there are differences in the

rules for each provider type.

In addition to your attorney and CPA, are you using a rehab management

consultant? There are at least six on this list serve who make a living

doing that.
