Gee Dave,

Do you have another insurance besides MediCare? If so, they should bill the

other insurance. That is wha Neighborhood Diabetes does for me and I pay

nothing for my strips.

Prodigy Voice and out of pocket cost in US

HI,

I got my Prodigy Voice last January. I have not received a single bill for

any of the costs not covered by Medicare. I meant to ask them (Home Care of

America) about this before now, but, well, I just never did.

they called the other day to confirm the next shipment of my 90-day supply

of strips and lancets, so I asked them. I was told someone from billing

would be in touch, but instead of a phone call, we received a statement.

Guess what? I owe them $615!

They apparently work with individuals who do not have supplemental coverage

(like me), which will help, but still, it was quite a shock. My

prescription is for about 300 strips per month, and I had been paying about

$50 out of pocket per month when purchasing Comfort Curve strips from my

local pharmacy. Based on some rough figuring, it looks like Home Care of

America is charging nearly the same amount for the Prodigy Voice strips

that I was paying for the Accuchek Comfort Curve strips.

I'll be calling them next week to confirm the price of their strips, but I

thought some of you in the US might like to know my experience.

Oh Dave,

Advanced Medical has me fill out a paper about every 6 months stating how

many times a day I check the BG and to list the times. They say the

MediCare won't pay for them otherwise.

Re: Prodigy Voice and out of pocket cost in US

I have their number. I have them as being in Georgia, and are one of the 2

companies Ruth suggested buying the meter and supplies from. Although, I

have their number as: 1-.

How are they different from Home Health Care of America I wonder?

Yes, the strips, insulin for my pump and all ppump supplies are covered. I

have MediCare and blue Cross.

Re: Prodigy Voice and out of pocket cost in US

To be sure I understand what you said in an earlier message, you say your

strips and lancets are completely covered?
