Guest guest
Ricy, Any kind of stock would cut down on the carbs, but you should look up beans-they by themselves are often high in carbs. question about bean soup Hi all, I'm going to make navy bean soup in the crock pot and was wondering if I should use tomatoes like I usually do or should I use stock instead and if so what kind? If I use stock would veg stock be better than say chicken? I'm trying to make it as carb friendly as possible. Thanks for any help. Guest guest
As Pat mentioned, beans, and I am thinking especially Navy beans, can be high in carbs. I believe some beans are more carb friendly, but I don't know which ones. Beans in general are a good source of fiber as well as protein, and I personally enjoy bean soup now and then. But, you will need to watch for a delayed reaction to your blood sugar. I'll be interested to see if someone recommends another type of bean.
