Guest guest
Hi, My son has an ear infection and impetigo (sp?) which is a form of staph. My doctor says I must give him antibiotics, as it could spread and become quite serious. Is it safe to give kids with PDD antibiotics? I thought they are one possible cause of autism. Thanks,
Guest guest
, If you must give an antibiotics ask for biaxin or zithromax. My son is on biaxin at all time 125mg 2x's a day. This has improved his receptive langauge significantly. But you must give acidopholis 2 hrs away from the anibiotic. Antibiotics do cause yeast but if you see improvements on the biaxin your child may have a problem w/ cytokines that feed viruses. Augmentin is really tough on the gut but biaxin improved my son gastro issue, as long as I supplement w/ acidopholis. Give him antibiotics per the doc and also give him lots of probiotics during and after the antibiotics. Guest guest
Also a suggestion we need antibiotics at times and I just keep up Nilstat (nystatin) as well as prohibotics this keeps the yeast in check - just gotta do it sometimes. Guest guest
We were fighting a nasty double ear infection. We waited it out a few days but he wasn't getting any better. Since we are spending our lives fighting yeast, I was also concerned about using antibiotics but more concerned about putting him at risk for a bigger problem by not treating it. We agreed it needed to be treated with antibiotics and ended up giving him shots of Rocephin. We were trying to bypass the gut flora issue as much as possible although some is inevitable. He needed 3 shots to finally do the job and didn't seem to have any ill effects from them. In the meantime, we are using saccharomyces boulardii for yeast and culturelle. I'm not sure if you could use the shot to treat the impetigo but you could ask your doctor about it. > I use oil of oregano for both > [ ] are antibiotics safe? apprec fast answer > > > Hi, > > My son has an ear infection and impetigo (sp?) which is a form of > staph. > > My doctor says I must give him antibiotics, as it could spread and > become quite serious.
