Rashes are pretty common with valtrex and that's actually a good sign -so congratulations. Check out Stan Kurtz's article on the TACA website - he talks about it there.

Hi my son has a rash that comes and goes on the side of his mouth. Itis a red patch. I am beginning to think it is yeast related. Itstarted when we began mb12 injections. It went away a few times andcame back when we started valtrex. We are retesting for yeast now. Itsounds like a standard to give an anti-viral along with valtrx so Iassume that's in order. Just wondering if anyone has experienced therash.Separately, we figured out a way to give my son liquid valtrex usingSears' cheek pocket method:http://www.askdrsears.com/html/10/T110206.asp

I would also like to know about the red patches around the mouth. My son gets these occasionally as well. They are either one or a few small red bumps or patches. Our pediatrician told us it was just bacteria but I would be very interested in finding out whether any of you have also experienced these? Our son is not on antivirals but he has been on several rounds of antifungals over the past year. From: Rebeca Robboy
