We are part of a larger corporation that uses EPIC, and at our specific facility

we do both inpatient and outpatient care, but generally speaking we are very

pleased with EPIC. That being said, some of our neighboring facilities also

have EPIC and though their environments are the same (small CAH with OP and IP),

their EPIC system looks and functions differently. These differences have led

to some headaches for these facilities, but I guess also shows that EPIC is

willing to customize to a facility's needs.

Feel free to contact me with any specific questions.

Subject: Epic EMR for Outpatient Rehab

Hi all,

Well, we finally got money in the budget for an EMR. We were happily searching

away and have narrowed down to two very nice outpatient rehab-specific EMRs. My

superiors have thrown a slight monkey wrench into the process and want us to add

two larger, system-wide EMRs into the mix. One of those is Epic.

Does anyone out there have experience with Epic software specifically for the

outpatient rehab setting? How are they with the our specific compliance/Medicare

needs? How about ease of use, customizability? My preference would be to stick

with something manufactured specifically for OP Rehab and interface in to a

larger system, but I'm thinking ahead here.

Any info, thoughts, experience would be appreciated. Thanks!
