Guest guest
There have been multiple discussions of this previously but we are relooking at our IRF policy reg 3 hour rule and weekend coverage. Our FI is NGS. We provide a minimum of 3 hours x 5 days coverage in our IRF - we offer full therapy either on the Sat or the Sun for patients who did not complete full therapy during the week for any reason. The brief exceptions rule is not applied during the 1st 3 days on the unit as is CMS policy. We rarely apply the brief exceptions policy, so they often recieve more than the minimum time required per week. Does anyone have any advice or experience with NGS, as to whether we might be able to offer only " missed time " during the week, rather than another full day of therapy, on the weekend? For example, if the patient missed 30 minutes on the 1st day of admission, could we then just offer 30 minutes of " make up " time on the weekend, rather than another 3 hours.
