Guest guest
Well, just to add to Dave and Dan's good advice I will throw in something which Harry and have preached for years. Big amounts of carbs, big mistakes, Little amounts of carbs, little mistakes. For those who are fairly new to this list and have missed a lot of Harry's comments what he was trying to tell us was that when you dose for large amounts of carbohydrate intake you will have to use larger doses of insulin. If your calculations happen to have misjudged how much insulin you need to overcome the carb intake you run the risk of major overdose and a possible low sugar crash. If you are dosing for small amounts of carb intake then you will use far less insulin and therefore run a much smaller risk of a low sugar crash if you make a boo boo. Relying on your post meal readings is truly some GREAT advice. Cy, The Anasazi.
