question about carbs

Hi all, I saw the dietician on Wednesday and we were talking about carbs and she

recommended eating 75 gm of carbs per meal or a total daily amount of 225 gms of

carbs.

This seemed like a lot to me since I'd been reading that 30 to 50 carbs per meal

were best. When I asked her about that she said that her experience was that her

clients usually couldn't stick with that low amount of carbs.

What do all of you think.

I showed her my bg log and she said that I was doing a pretty good job of

getting them down. She said that my first A1C was 10.6 and from the readings it

looked like my reading for my next test which should be coming up probably would

be in the 8 range which she said was a good drop for a two month period. Of

course I want to get it down in the normal range if possible and know its going

to take a lot of work and support to do that.

I didn't go to my friends house for Thanksgiving because I wasn't sure what they

were going to be having because someone other than my friend was doing the

shopping and cooking. I wanted to try to keep up the healthy eating. My partner

and I got a turkey breast, I did make stuffing but used a organic wholewheat

stuffing that had a low carb amount. I fixed regular mashed potatoes for my

partner and I made mock mashed potatoes out of cauliflower. I got a sugar free

apple pie and had just a small piece.

I tested before bed last night and had a reading of 139 and again this morning

fasting test was 120 which I know aren't great readings but much better than the

200 ones I was getting in the beginning.
