Guest guest
Ok....here we go.... met with the dan today to go over test results: With the exception of low vitamin d, all vites and minerals seem to be in good order. Negative for strep. Metabolic profile: everything looks great. Neurotransmitter metabolites:right smack dab in the middle of ref. range. beautiful. Mitochondrial function: fine DHPPA (anyone have a clue???): slightly elevated. (recommended 5-mthf) Test shows antibodies to exposure to hhv-6. Doc said that indicates past exposure but not necessarily currently active (or something to that affect) Test also shows borderline low thyroid function. (significant family history - both sides). Because he doesn't present with symptoms, we've agreed to keep an eye on it for now and tackle other things first. Very low in good flora. (He did a round of antibiotics a few months ago so that might make sense) Yeast turned up negative(thank God) and bad flora has not taken over. So we'll get back on the probiotics and start sach b. He did test positive for gluten and casein sensitivities (surprise surprise) --thank God I've spent some serious time learning all about the diet or I'd be completely overwhelmed. We talked about so much today that I'm having a hard time keeping everything straight.... Is IgG the immediate response to foods? and IgE shows later responses? Why would Aspergillus niger show up Negative on the IgE but show up as a 2 on the IgG? Isn't aspergillus black mold and wouldn't everybody have a sensitivity to it???? I quickly read something that said it's used in some medicines. what??? (All other molds turned out fine) He showed a 2 for oregano. That probably means no OoO? Or are those two completely different?? Corn was fine...does that mean I don't have to be so paranoid about high fructose corn syrup all the damn time? The doctor told me these were actually the best test results he's ever seen for a kid on the spectrum. which is awesome. However, I chose not to do the metals testing because it freaks me out. I don't want to be shaking anything up and stirring things around when all is well. Now I'm wondering if this could be the culprit and if it's a stone I need to turn. Also, because we are going gluten/dairy free....I'm almost positive I've read that I need to be careful choosing a probiotic. What strains do I need to avoid? And because strep tested negative, is it ok to have strep strains in the probiotic? Feel free to throw any thoughts, opinions, experiences or ideas out there. I'm game for anything. Thanks...so sorry looooooooooong post -Tammy P.S. I love love love my dan.... Maybe another time we can talk about the husband's pissy-ass attitude towards him after months of doing nothing to learn ANYthing about this stuff. rrrrr!!!
