Guest guest
Group, There is a hospital in town that is issuing scripts to doctors with a circled 30 or 90 day certification plan on them. So, some are circled 30 days and others 90 days. What would be the reason for this? I have some doctors that are not signing my scripts after 30 days because it wastes their time and they say other PT scripts don't bother them with scripts every 30 days even though they continue to see the patients more than 30 days. We have a state statute that says we need a recertification/signed script with a progress note every 30 days. Don't we need follow this rule. I know Medicare has its rules but how does that relate to the state statute? Thoughts?? Hankins, PT President Synergy Therapies, LLC
Guest guest
, Your State stature trumps Medicare. If your State requires you to have a new script every 30 days then that supersedes the Medicare rule. As to why that hospital provides the option, I can only guess, it makes little to no sense though given your State's stature. Without hard evidence there is little else you can do about those breaking the rules. van Well, PT Henry Ford Health System Detroit, MI Sent from my 'new' iPad > Group, > > There is a hospital in town that is issuing scripts to doctors with a circled 30 or 90 day certification plan on them.
