Actually, there is a *.pif, and it can be scary. PIF File Extension refers

to the Program Information File that may be associated with a DOS

application in the Windows environment. This file contains information

about how the DOS application will run in Windows.

Always a good idea! That, and keep a current (updated at least once a week)

virus protection program running on your computer at all times.
