Guest guest
: I had a miscarriage in July 1997 and my ep in November 1998. With the ep, I experienced a rupture at 9 weeks and ended up in the ER and nearly died before it was diagnosed and emergency surgery was performed. I had NO pg symptoms, not even a missed period, prior to the rupture. As a result of this, I lost my right tube as well as our second child. The doctor told us to wait three cycles before TTC again. We had already been trying for two years before the ep. He said the chances with only one tube were very good, and that it just might take a little longer. After three to four months with no more success, we pursued some testing to see if there were any other factors inhibiting our fertility. I had an hsg at this point, as well as blood tests and an endometrial biopsy. I was diagnosed with a luteal phase defect. I was supposed to start clomid to correct progesterone levels in November 1999, but AF never arrived. I was 4 1/2 weeks pg! It took a year, but we were able to conceive naturally after my ep and with only one tube. My doctor monitored me very carefully, first until we saw the pg in the uterus, and then until I was 14 weeks along and the placenta took over progesterone production. Without his great and careful care I know I would not have made it without losing another child. My pregnancy was easy and relatively uneventful, even though I was a nervous wreck much of the time (no innocent blissful ignorance here) and I gave birth to our son Caleb on June 29th. he is the light of my life and I cherish every moment with him I just thought I would tell some of my story again for those of you that are new to the list so you can see there is hope for ttc after an ep and a lot of it Take care all
