Psychiatric dictation question

I vote for two words because the expression is derived from speaking of a " case "

where someone is nuts. Nutcase sounds more like something a nut would be

encased in.

Isn't it interesting how we have to " properized " (that is a Rennie term--grin)

slang? Well, it CAN be fun, eh?

Psychiatric dictation question

The dictator states, " He continues to project and feels like people are

looking at him differently and always thinking that he is a nut case. "

Is nut case one word such as nutcase or two as I have nut case?

Thanks in advance,

Deborah, I agree with Rennie that it's two words, and it's a colloquial

expression. Therefore, in my opinion, it should be enclosed in quotation

marks. Surely the physician was quoting a lay person, not diagnosing! At

least it was a printable colloquialism.
