Guest guest
Dave: I joined this group in late November or early December. O ve [psted ,essages 4-5 times. I was temporarily out of commission due to having another eye surger in early December. Which makes me think I joined in early November. I am legally blind with three surgeries on the right eye and two on the left. I've had Type I diabetes since age 12. Just wanted to reintroduce myself. I certainly understand and completely agree with having caution on the internet. There are some real odd balls out there. In addition, I've always been vigilent about personal safety. I did judo and boxing up until my 30s. (Light sparring in boxing...no competitive fights because I wouldn't have been approved to fight due to diabetes...my doctor never would have allowed that. I've also been involved in street based self defense training for a long time. I also worked as a probation officer and as a counselor in a prison...awareness and caution ruled the day in those situations. In fact, a reality based self defense forum is where I found that link. I've been a member there for years and I'm communicating with several people who have experience working with blind/low vision people in order to adapt to my current situation. I told the forum members that I would ask the people on this forum what their thoughts are in regards to the link I put up. I can assure you that I'm not posting any type of offensive material. Though I understand your concerns. Chris > > Just a word of caution to all on the list. I'm not sure who this person is, and the link may or may not be something you want to click on. There are 200 members of this group, and so it is possible is a member, but one who has lurked for a very long time. As hard as we try to protect the list from spammers, the defenses are not impenetrable. > > Dave > > The way of a fool seems right to him, but a wise man listens to advice.
