Impulsive? Suddenly gets a brain wave and bolts off?

Have you tried hydrogenated fat exclusion and/or antiseizure

medications like tegretol, depakote, lamictil and neurontin?

I, too, am interested in a medical ID bracelet for my 4-year-old son.

Last May he finally was diagnosed as high-functioning autistic.

Ever since he could walk, his impulsive running and touching have at

times scared the hell out of me. Many times I would have appreciated

hitching him to a humane harness....

By the way, at 6 months he'd lost speech following vaccinations; it

was 8 months before he said " mama " again. He also has a patch of

unformed tissue on his right prefrontal cortex that has decreased over

2 years. The neurologist had prescribed tegretol following febrile

seizures, but we quit dosing after my Andy suffered wild mood swings.

We are lucky -- my little guy is getting therapy, has responded to

vitamin supplements, and I hope to test and chelate him before the

year is out.

SAFETY COMPOSITE

Here is plenty of food for thought regarding the protection and of your

child(ren). It is a listing of many topics that I have run across, saved over

the passed few years and forwarded to my daughter, the mom of my grandson who

became autistic after being vaccinated. Hope you find the various topics of use.

dirty room door alarm.Parts List:

1inch finishing nail

Dental Floss

2 empty tin cansInstructions:

Punch a hole in each tin can. Thread the dental

floss thru the holes in the tin cans and tie a knot. If the door opens into the

room

Drive the finishing nail into the wall above the door.

Holding the cans at the top part of the door, run the

dental over the nail, and tie a loop in the dental floss,

such that the cans will pull the dental loss loop off the

Drive the nail into the top of the door. Place the cans

nothing made worked for my son . My Pediatrician isn't a fan on the wrist

Notifying Police + Firemen + Neighbors

Suggest Meetings with Fire and Police Chiefs(from Dad) Shapiro

<thepaulshapiro@...> wrote:

My Dear , Just a little reminder about making the police and fire

dept aware of where Mathew lives and the fact that he is autistic and make

them aware that they would have to treat him special in the event of an

emergency or any other contact they may have with him. I would start with

contact the Chief of Police and Chief of the Fire Dept and set up

meetings with them. Bring Mathew along so that they can meet him. Explain

what autism is, make them aware that his responses may be different than

other children and request that they make all the members of each

department aware of the where you live, of Mathew's special circumstance

and that they will have to take his differences into account when

and if they have an opportunity to deal with him.

Love Dad

As for the police I would make up his own picture ID card, perhaps one for each

police cruiser. You can make them on your computer or have a store (office

max/staples) make them up and have them laminated. Just a few thoughts.

Just one other thought, I would go to the neighbors and clue them in. Tell them

about your child and if they ever see the child wandering off alone, please take

the child under control and notify me. Give them all info as to how to contact

Tegretol (and impulsiveness) usually come from the temporal lobes, not

the PFC. This suggests there are 2 separate issues, and unless your

doc's really understand that they are going to have a horribly

difficult time treating him.

Try hydrogenated fat exclusion.

Also, tegretol messes with adrenal function. Depakote messes with

thyroid but not adrenal function - if the mood swings were related to

adrenal insufficiency depakote might be OK.

-HI ...

the site was...www.n-styleid.com

and yes, after the near fatal car wreck the family suffered on the

way to AZ in November. I thought it important that Nick wear

something that lists his DX, his meds and his allergies. If

something were to happen to hubby and myself, we need Nicks medical

care to at least know whats hes got going on.

It just arrived before xmas...Nick chose a blue band with puppy dog

paws on it.. then theres a little med alert with a black symbol that

slides onto the strap. His info is engraved on the back of this.

Total cost including shipping was under $40 which is well worth it

for my peice of mind...

They do have some really cute ladies ones....
