Hyphen Question: non-smoker or nonsmoker ?

I don't have the BOS, but looking at Fordney & Diehl's 'Do's and

Don'ts' rules for the hyphen I would think it is non-smoker.

However, I see it in print as nonsmoker. Which is correct?
