Guest guest
I gave this some thought, and finally decided to share something that happened last night (Sunday evening). We had boneless chicken and mashed or whipped potatoes for dinner, and a salad containing various raw vegetables. We also had some corn. Our son simply will not eat anything green (except for peas or broccoli on occasion), hence the corn. Now, if I were on my own, I wouldn't eat a meal like this, except for once in a blue moon! But, well, I live with other people! I say all this to say, I over reacted when calculating my insulin dosage, and ended up pretty low a couple hours later. Years ago, when reaching a certain low point, I could easily start to laugh, but that seemed to go away. That is, until last night! The dumbest thing would crack me up! Needless to say, my wife wasn't laughing, but was trying to shove glucose tablets down my throat! The moral of this story is, to type 1's in particular, watch those lows! I tend to treat them a little casually, but last night reminded me just how serious they can be. I mean, I was quite conscious of my actions, yet unable to stop them. When our blood sugar gets to a point where we are unable to control our body, or our brain, then we are in jeopardy of some serious trouble. Dave The way of a fool seems right to him, but a wise man listens to advice. (Proverbs 12:15)
