Matt,

Check your state Code and the CDC.

In Iowa Code, Chapter 15 (for hospital settings) we are required to test

for TB upon hire and then every four years. I believe the Iowa Code is

more rigid than Federal CDC standards.

South Dakota may be different. Outpatient Clinics may also be different

than hospitals.

You would think the regulations would be universal, but they aren't.

I'm not aware of a regulation, but I'd suspect that OSHA would be a good

first place to look.

Several years ago I contacted the AR Health Department about whether TB test

were required. I was told they highly recommend anyone having face to face

contact with patients have annual TB test. The question came up after a

Medicare visit conducted by the AR Health Department visited one of our

rehab agencies. This was on their check list.
