If this gets posted twice, forgive me. To: MiniGastricBypassonelist <MiniGastricBypassonelist> Date: Thursday, May 20, 1999 11:48 PM Subject: Excess Skin Hey Again Everyone! I had a visit with a friend of mine today that had this procedure done (open, different doctor) about three years ago and she has lost from 385# to 130# Yes 255#!!!! It took her two years to lose... She's about five foot seven and looks absolutely great. She had surgery done to remove her excess skin last summer. Guess what.... She didn't have to pay for it. She called a Burn Trauma Center in Seattle, WA and was accepted as an organ donor. She said they actually removed skin from her stomach, thighs, arms and back. When you are an organ donor you don;t have to pay for the surgery the organ recipient pays everything. She did pay a plastic surgeon to make sure the stitches were cosmetically perfect, but that cost was less that $2,000.00. He even gave her a sexy little new belly button. She showed me and I was amazed! Now I only hope I have enough excess skin when I'm done!!! Ha Ha! :-) Oh.... One question.... are any of you that are scheduled surgery soon eating like these are your last days on earth???? I have eaten Fettuccine Alfredo, Enchiladas, and tons of chocolate in the past week! All my favorites! Ha Ha! Love you All...... KathyT Alaska
