Hey Stevie!

Count me in! I'd be more than happy to be a guinea pig on the Oprah Show!

Sounds like an awesome opportunity to spread the word! Keep me posted as to

what's going on! :) You're awesome!

The Oprah show is a great idea!!!!!

I truly would love for someone to explain everything and the real reasons

people do this procedure and show some good results instead of all the

horror stories!

Like how it isnt the easy way out, and how it saves lives!

Stevie,

Great news. Keep us posted.

Now (chuckle) tell me why this post is not considered personal and should I

respond to you and only you directly via e-mail or would it be considered

" kosher " to post a response (reaction) to the whole group.

I'm not trying to be difficult or sarcastic here......I really would like to

know how to categorize both your message and my reply?

Any suggestions? I do see why this would be considered OT and I like that

designation, because if I was in a hurry I'd just skip it for later.

Just my opinion, mind you, but since some have asked... I suggest

posting to individual

addresses when it's more personal & mainly affects that one person:

congrats, sorry to

hear about, how are you, etc. I would say the Oprah thing is more

public, as Stevie

would like others to contact the show & support having WLS as a topic.

It also affects

all of us more than a personal note to congratulate someone on getting

approval for

surgery. Of course, it's always a judgement call. I don't think

anyone's really wanting

to be moderated, maybe just a little moderation in where replys are

going. As I only

have access to a computer & email at work, the volume is an issue for

me, too.

Just my $.02 worth. I guess like any family group, we have our

differences of opinions.

Have a great day!!

Dear Beth,

Two pre-schoolers?!!!! God Love You....there will be extra stars in your

crown in Heaven.....I get exhausted just thinking about the energy levels

possible at that age.

That isn't what I was writing about though....I was writing to say I agree

about " family & differences of opinion " .....the family analogy just keeps

getting more accurate....but what I like about this group is that even when

we disagree, we " fight fair " .

The very diversity that this support group provides, differing opinions and

all, is bound to create problems from time-to-time....but nothing we can't

work out and remain civil about in the process.

I understand the " volume " issue and like the idea of the other list for OT

discussions...I just didn't want to lose the camaraderie of the group....and

it sounds like this could be the best of both worlds.........

I just noticed something. The To: line above...has MGB listed. I meant to

send this to you privately but guess I clicked on reply to author ...I bet

that happens to a lot of the newbies too. I'll try to remember to delete

most of the message I'm replying to also.

Spoke to a representative for the Phobi (excuse spelling ) procedure and

apparently they do not encounter as many denials as we do? I asked them to

help in a " nationwide " effort to promote the WLS with our government. It has

to start somewhere... so, march on DC year 2000... sure if enough of us get

together, we can stop the traffic.

Since my surgery back in December, I have been contacting various television

shows suggesting a program on this procedure and morbid obesity as a whole.

Please everyone write some letters.. use this energy meaningfully! As a

group, we can accomplish our goals.

Fabulous! Wouldn't that be a kick!? You have my 100% encouragement and

support.

Particularly the part of exposing the insurance companies.

Pam,

You are sooooo bad!(hehe). If I'm sending this to the wrong list, my

apologies. I'm doing good just to get one list read, and maybe get a reply

or two sent, without having to worry if I'm posting to the " right " list. I

think the technical list is good for very technical questions and at first

I thought having separate lists was okay, but I'm afraid I'll lose touch

with everyone and to tell you the truth, this list has been a life saver on

more than one occasion for me! I love all of you! So I have changed my

opinion on separate lists! I vote for ONELIST!!!!

Tina

PS Oprah would be awesome! WE need good representation for a change!
