Not really close to your s/l, but from the word exostosis I would venture

accessory navicular.

It does make me wonder because the doc stopped, paused and clearly said what

sounded like *griloid* with a definite G sound.

Hah! Look what I found. I saw cornuate navicular and did a search coming

up with this tidbit:

Occasionally, the accessory ossification center is fused to the tuberosity.

This latter instance has been referred to as a " wrap-around " navicular,

cornuate navicular, gorilliform navicular, and the Kidner foot type.
